  According to Jiang Hongbin, member of the Party Committee of the Municipal Health and Health Commission, by the end of 2021, there were 1,198,500 permanent elderly people aged 60 and above in the city, accounting for 26.19% of the permanent population; There are 962,700 permanent residents aged 65 and above, accounting for 21.03% of the permanent population; There are 177,000 elderly people aged 80 and above and 497 centenarians. The resident elderly population aged 60 and over and 65 and over in the city are 4.04 and 3.99 percentage points higher than that in the whole province, and 7.29 and 6.83 percentage points higher than that in the whole country.

  Focusing on improving the old-age service system, in recent years, Yangzhou has focused on the construction of caring communities, giving full play to the ecological and humanistic advantages of Yangzhou, vigorously promoting the construction of a high-quality caring city, and creating a safe and healthy environment of "hearing the local accent and meeting acquaintances" to continuously improve the happiness and satisfaction of the elderly. This year, Yangzhou City was successfully selected as the national home and community basic old-age service promotion action project area in 2022.

  Yangzhou innovatively put forward the "3+" concept of "community+","medical care+"and "park+pension" to further improve the construction of community home-based pension service facilities and effectively meet the needs of the elderly for the elderly. The pension adjustment for retirees of enterprises, institutions and institutions in Yangzhou in 2022 was successfully completed on July 25th, benefiting a total of 587,500 retirees.   The basic pensions of 500,400 employees (retired or receiving regular living expenses) in the city have been adjusted.
