CCTV News:According to the latest data, in the past ten years, the total number of market players in China has achieved a historic breakthrough. By the end of August 2022, there were 163 million registered market players, a net increase of over 100 million compared with 55 million at the end of 2012, with an average annual increase of 12%. According to the General Administration of Market Supervision, the sustained and steady growth of market players has consolidated the micro-foundation of economic development, promoted the formation of a super-large market in China, and accumulated important strategic resources for building a new development pattern and promoting high-quality development.

The data shows that by the end of August 2022, there were 163 million registered market players, a net increase of over 100 million compared with 55 million at the end of 2012, with an average annual increase of 12%. Among them, the number of enterprises has increased from more than 13 million to more than 51 million, close to the sum of the number of enterprises in the United States and the European Union, and the number of enterprises with 1,000 employees has increased from 11.4 to 36.1.

Among them, there are more than 23 million "Four New Economies" enterprises with new technologies, new industries, new formats and new models, accounting for 46.4% of all enterprises. The number of newly established enterprises in "Four New Economies" has also increased from 740,000 in 2012 to 3.84 million in 2021, which has continuously accumulated new kinetic energy for China’s economic development and international competitiveness. The number of individual industrial and commercial households has increased from 40.6 million to 109 million, reaching a new level in history. Farmers’ professional cooperatives have increased from less than 700,000 to 2.225 million, an increase of more than two times.

By the end of August 2022, the number of private enterprises in China has more than quadrupled from more than 10 million at the end of 2012 to more than 47 million, and the proportion of private enterprises has increased from less than 80% to more than 90%. Not only has the number increased, but the overall strength of private enterprises has also been greatly enhanced, and private enterprises have continuously entered the world’s top 500.

China unswervingly promotes high-level opening to the outside world, and implements the system of national treatment plus negative list before the entry of foreign investment. In the past ten years, the number of foreign-invested enterprises has increased from 441,000 to 668,000, an increase of more than 50%, which has played an important role in building a new development pattern with the domestic big cycle as the main body and the domestic and international double cycles promoting each other.

According to reports, since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the reform of the commercial system has continued to advance. By the end of 2020, the start-up time of enterprises has been reduced from an average of 22.9 days to less than 4 working days, and it has become a reality to "hand in materials and never leave home to apply for a license". The reform of administrative examination and approval system has greatly reduced the number of administrative examination and approval items, which has become a breakthrough for the continuous optimization of the business environment. Since 2013, the State Council has cancelled and decentralized 1,098 administrative licensing items. Since the reform, the global ranking of China’s business environment has jumped from the 96th to the latest 31st, and the ranking of the convenience of starting a business has greatly jumped from the 150th to the 27th. China has become one of the economies with the greatest improvement in the global business environment.
